Type3 Carb linkages issue...

Afternoon all,

I have a 1600 twin carb donk in the squareback. Carbs are linked of course.

But it seems like the ball joints that hold the linkages onto the carb are worn and it seems to want to come off easily. They were held on by rubber bands!

Is there anything I can do to cure this problem?

Cheers

If the retaining clips inside the sockets are missing or broken, you will either need new linkages.
Coincidentally, http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=32391
or crush the ball ends with pliers. This will make them hard to get off.
If the clips are present, try prying them out with a small jewellers screw driver
