Ummm, dont think so - sierras are front engined and I cant see radiator etc

I had a go at the photo above - looks to me like someone has just grafted a beam front frame head on the floorpan

Would be lots of mods to the front end...

as the coil springs-McPherson struts are bolted to the BODY Not the chassis as in normal Beetles...

and in standard form...
hitting the gutter can damage the front suspension - strut mounts... bend the body...

and then in 1976 came the Best Beetle Made :-----

Torsion Bar front end - flat windscreen - IRS rear - etc etc...

"They saved the Best till Last......." IMHO..

There are a couple of them in Perth, Kurt built a Real nice one for a guy a few years back.. Not sure where that car is now...
They do make a Baja kit for them and I have the rear guards off an L Baja kit on my car..
They're heaps wider than standard early baja guards and look a bit squarish and boxy but allow great clearance and tyre covearage compared to normal ones..
Very Hard to find though...

either weld a beam frame head and put a B/J ot K/L front end on.....or strethen the mounts for the struts and reinforce everything.

theres a yellow superbug baja that gets around to shows in QLD with a v8 in the back of it ill find a pic.

That looks like it has th standard L-bug pan from what I can see but on a lift kit. Can anyone else make out the hammer head style 'pan end under there?

The L bug should be fine for off roading. Just reinforce your strut mounts and it should be cool. All your big 4x4's run mcpherson strut and they all seem to be doing all right.

mmm, don't think so. Unless u describe Pajeros as "big" 4wds, and they aren't strictly macpherson strut. Big ones uses torsion bar Ifs, or even better for mental offroad stuff, live front axle.

macpherson strut bug's DON'T make good race cars BUT... they make good Baja's for the road and a bit of sand and light off road......

A good friend of mine has one and it never been a problem to him. It all comes down to how you use it...

Edit" BTW one raced in WA in class4 for 8 years.......and won class 3 years in a row

The boys use to beat this round the Mortlake Speedway and there were some REAL decent jumps on that
