1800 or 2lt? That is the question

Hi all, nearly Christmas, man what a quick year.

Just after some advice.
I'm upgrading my 73Bay from 1600 to 1800 or 2lt. I have a complete 2lt + complete 1800 (both with gearboxes).
The 2lt was sitting in a paddock for a while and got some water inside it. When I cracked it and cleaned it up the case looks fine (few bearings to replace), camshaft needs replacing, not sure on the crank yet. Heads have corrosion (look like crap).
The 1800 on the other hand came with a 75bay that broke down (guy had no $$$ to fix). It would only crank about 3/4 before stopping, however as soon as I removed the heads she turned full cycle perfectly. As yet I have not cracked the case (was not leaking).

What do you think? Should I finish the 2lt or 1800? To me the 1800 sound better (valve spring?)
What to do?

Any advice appreciated

ps Merry Christmas

If the 2 ltr bottom end and piston and barrells are ok, I would stick the 1800 heads on the 2 ltr engine. and use the 2 ltr gearbox too.

I have an 1800 twin carbied one, and the carbies are starting to annoy me. I am having some pretty annoying trouble, and no-one can tell me what's wrong. I think I'd like to go FI. Is it possible to stick 2L FI intake/heads on an 1800? The heads are interchangable right?

Then again, if you get some good carbies, Becker's suggestion seems good to me.
