Parts for a VW Supa '75
Two small items I am after. I have seen them on USA web sites but we must have them here. One is the impact rubber for bumper bars, some VWs had
them as standard. The other is the small plastic plug that goes on the door hinge. You remove it to oil the hinge, but mine does not exist so water
gets in!!!
Any Oz suppliers??
thanks Jeff |

Hi
I bought the rubbers from a dealer a few years ago, they are expensive, dont bother with the US, they used different bumpers over there. The little
plastic caps can be bought from Vintage Vee Dub supplies or other VW places, they are not hard to get.
Steve, go the strut bugs

Thanks Steve.
I was unaware that the impact rubbers were different in the US to Aust, though I was aware the US had different bumper mountings. My VW has the turn
signal in the bumper, so do you know the part No (?) and I'll check the local VW supplier. I was amazed they still carried the plastic centre wheel
caps and wheel nut cases for my sports wheels, so if they carry this I will also be amazed (and moreso at the price?).
cheers

Hi Jeff
Im pretty sure the US only had blinkers on the top of guards and never put them into the bumper. I have a copy of the VW parts program EKTA, I will
try to get it to work again on my new PC. I f I get it to work I will get the part numbers for you.

Hi
Couldnt get ETKA to work, had no problems with Win 98, XP it wont work on. I found a Russian site with ETKA on it, you dont need to download it, its
in Russian until you get into it and then its in English. The aprt number for the rear strip is 113807425B and it says the front ones are no longer
available.
Steve
The site is here http://www.elcats.ru/

Thanks Steve
I have seen on other VW sites (SBO) pics of VWs with blinkers in the bumper bars, so I think they were produced in US. I also have seen the impact
strips for these on web site. As the last of the beetles in Australia had the impact strip, I thought someone here might sell them.
cheers

Yes, you are right. The US beetle never had the blinker in the bumper. But the Mexican beetle did, however, it never came with an impact strip. So
I can only look to Europen suppliers which I have done.
Thanks
