Any decent VW magazines and books??

Are there any decent VW magazines available? I've been looking at my local newsagent and there doesn't seem to be much on offer.

Also, any recommedations on good books for an learner dubber? I have no car knowledge at all and really want to learn as much as I can about my VW, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You need the Complete idiots guide by John Muir. Great book with heaps of easy to use help on all the models. It's about $50.

As for magazines, most of them are too full of ads to warrant the price.
A few cars, a few articles and LOTS of ads. And they cost 8 bucks!

Better info online and it's free. Hang around here and you will learn heaps.

Thanks, I've been cruising this site for a few weeks, have picked up a bit already. I'm getting the John Muir book this week, I'm sure I'll be addicted within months!

I agree with sax you should get John Muirs book. I also have a bentley workshop manual which is really useful too.

I like magazines and buy VolksWorld (english) and the new Australian Volkswagen magazine pretty regularly.

Hope it helps

well, youve got the right name to get addicted. Rudi is European, German or Austrian, right? i have an Austrian relative called Rudi. the Aussie VW mag is pretty good for inspiration and has adds from all the local parts shops, and Brooklands Books publishes great books called 'Performance Portfolios' on each model which are basically collections of period reviews and roadtests which are definitely worth a read.

Well, my name's not Rudi, the car's name is. I named him after the dodgy Hungarian man I bought the car from, he had character and so does my bug! I bought the last Aussie VW magazine, it had some nice pictures in it.
