E-bay opinion requested
I recently "won" set of VW mudflaps on ebay.
The seller is in WA and I drive past suburb at least twice a week and two members of my family are in real estate and in area continually' I asked
instead of posting which is about same price as item could they be picked up. Would pay into Bank account immediately and pick up at a time convenient
to seller.
She refused as her landlord does not like her dealing in ebay and asked did I want to cancel deal.
I told her that if that is what she wanted to confirm by e-mail.
No reply but now have e-bay payment dispute notice.
Also going to hospital on Wednesday for bypass repair.
I have a good solicitor-perhaps it might be worth a try.
Opinions please.

If you have a heart problem I wouldn't stress out over some mudflaps!
Re payment on ebay. You have to read the payment options before you bid. Some sellers dont want just anyone turning up on their door step, especially
if it the seller is female.

I had a similar experience, bought something for small amount and offered to pick it up. No can do. Some ebay traders wont allow pickup for paranoia
reasons. I said to the seller why pay more for shipping than I paid for the item especially if I drive past it everyday.
After be both engaged in feedbacks at 20 paces, it was settled.
Told him to shove it up his fundamental orifice in the end.

you mean you are going to have your heart stopped, and blood pumped by a machine for a while, have a 30 cm scar down your chest and you are worried
about an e-bay auction!!!!!!!
just pay the postage and let the girl send them to you..I wouldn't want some unknown coming round to my house either.. |

Had the 30cm scar 12 months ago- just getting the incision scar rebuilt for 2nd time where they rip you open with Stryker Saw-same as used for
autopsies.
Perhaps I am getting too old -I can remember when people had manners and helped each other like mosr AVDs appear to do.

I hear you Warren.. Probably the flip side is the girl would like to have you stop by, cup of tea and pick up the part.. But is scared of the
potential downside..Thats not the real world anymore.. I grew up in the country in the 60's and 70's.. Never thought of locking doors at nite.. My
mother (who is still on the property) was burgled three years ago.. Two dogs, gates and big locks now..
The world has changed mate.. If you want the purchase.. respect her wishes and get it posted.. Shame isn't it.. Never hear of travellers these days
either.. No Rawlings salesman, Electrolux man.. Not any more..
Hope your check up goes OK..

Well at least AVD gets some action just got phone call from seller whose name has not been mentioned saying I had been knocking her on webpage.
Someone must know her or the U2U that was requested passed info on.
I am going to hospital tomorrow or maybe sooner as I had had to give phone to my wife as this girl does not reason and my BP was going up the wall.
If e-bay can't resolve -stiff.
It is amazing that you contact immediately, get no reply for 10 days, try and work out solution, seller asks if I want to proceed and I say it is up
to her and you get completely ignored.
One posting to AVD and getting phone calls- even though it is not resolved,

EBAYERS BEWARE** PLEASE READ**
I always read ALL the details on ebay, as many people do NOT want people calling around.... to pick up the goods...
some won't even give You the bank details for direct debit..
luckily this is only a few people....
No Direct Debit - I don't bid....
Postage over $10 I don't bid...
I do however tell the people that I would have bid if they had direct debit or would use normal post...
and MOST do change their minds....... funny that....
Warren, I would just Pay up and forget about it....
You could end up with a black mark against your name on ebay... Not sure what they actually do....
it has to be worse than Negative feedback I guess....
I have been very surprised lately, that most of the items I have been interested in, have been available for pick up...
When trying to pick up large items from ebay, at times It took 3 or 4 emails before the other party would actually tell Me where they were
situated....
When asked.. replies like - in the southern suburbs of Sydney- or - near Parramatta etc.. which is NOT much help to Me when I am planning a 330kms
drive.... and wanting to look up the Gregorys guide.....
Also, I Now look up the Negative feedback reports to see if I want to deal with that person.. it Does help...
My Main worry with ebay is packaging... I just bought two cordless phones from a very nice person... He had some negative feedback, but after
reading them & His reply, I took His side... His packaging was PERFECT... each item wrapped individually and packed in 2 boxes.... No Way they
could have been damaged... friendly emailer too...
Another Warning to ebayers... items NEW in sealed boxes does NOT Mean the item isn't broken or doesn't work.......
I know... My Son knows too....

I agree with your comments.
The point was that I asked if I could pick up and gave reasons-did not insist.
The I was ignored for 10 days.
If the courtesy had been paid to reply to my request I would have paid postage and got on with it.
She also eventually asked did I want to go ahead with it and I said it was up to her and to please let me know either way.
This was ignored until I got ebay notice.
She can't have it both ways.
If she emailed me with Bank account and postage I would probably pay and then have bonfire when if I get them.

yes, unfortunate situation. i always make sure to ask the seller before bidding, not worth the risk. i am also generally more hen hapy for people to
pickup things that they have bought off me and have never had any problems with people who have come to collect from ebay, here or anywhere else.
