dannyboys new 61 bug (GONE TO BRIZZY)
thanks to Stenguns i now own this 61. Original paint , pretty much straight , solid as and all original. Interior , rubbers etc are trashed and car is
yet to run . Saying that it's only 6 months out of rego and had a recent service. Steerings shot aswell so $1000 & lowering will see a nice daily
driver. Get it home t'w so i'll see and know more but it's a great car and a steal! A 61 and a 65 Notch , well look at me!! Lardy da!!

needs a major tidy-up and servicing , steering has mega play in it. It's just so solid and original , shame interior is so far gone. will need covers
for now unless a good interior comes up. More fun and hassles with parking cars!!
Real nice daily driver after a few w'ends work , HOPEFULLY !

Day1!!!!
Wow , what a day!
Managed to get the day off to collect car. Tow truck brought it home and then it started.
Washed down , cut back and polished. Will need a few good polishes and be like new. Few little dings and 2 minor rust spots to sort but shines like a
new one now. Bumpers taken off , brackets straight and ready for a set of new blades
Rooted headlining taken out , rooted carpets taken out , interior cleaned and whole car detailed. Again no suprises and apart from battery area no
welding repairs are required.
Only real plans are now to get it up and running and serviced, steering box, bang some new(2nd hand) interior in it , few new seals , blades , paint
up the rims , new caps , 135's , dump it and cruise it. Not much! LOL
Have to say although i wasn't REALLY after another bug i took one look and was hooked again. Seeing past all the crappy interior (mainly dirty) i
knew it's got the potential for a cheap cruiser which are extremly hard to find. Buying this has cleaned me out big time and owning 2 cars i know
will be trouble. Hopefully the 61 will be on the road before too long as i'm missing out whilst working so much on the Notch.
Lastly Rob seriously mate , THANK YOU!!!! How funny it must have looked to see the bug flying down New South Head Rd , coasting all the way , no rego
, dim lights , flat rear tyre and me with a huge grin on my face. If the cops had turned up we would have been in the poo big time. Towing wouldn't
have gone down well either LOL!! It was like VW Rescue hit squad. Steering lock ripped off , hotwired and we were gone! Funny as.
Anyhow the cars got the makings of a nice tidy daily driver and i'm stoked with it. No seat belts , no fuel gauge etc does seem weird though. As
i've been so busy cleaning it up i havn't had a close look at the motor etc , so don't know engine size etc. Just sprayed 2 can of degreaser which
i'll wash off t'w so i can get a service kit for it.
Just thanks again to Rob for getting so excited and AVD to make this possible.
Few pics

Yep thats the one. Ha ha looking at the engine number and style of motor (gennystand part fo block) looks like an 1100!!! LOL , Bloody 1100. Would
that be original??? Adds to the fun , at least not having belts won't be a worry , wont be going fast enough!
