My bug smashed in hit and run

Coming home bout an hour ago and a Toyota Tarago - older model - silver in colour with 5 young middle eastern guys in the car came straight thru a give way sign and wiped me out.

Whats worse is they took off.
Got their rego SJI248.

Front guard and light is fucked, suspension tower is sitting against the boot, steering arm is bent, rear guard is damaged.

Had a witness but he left while i was distracted...

Anyways i have a headache, but both me and my mate are ok.
Coppers came and took details....

Well i hope for the lil punks that hit me's sake that they ran because they were scared and didnt know what to do.
BUT the coppers better catch up with them before i do - or ima start by putting my boot up their assess, and then take it from there.

If anyone knows this car by any chance go to the cops and tell em.

That's such a shame, Quickbug, Speedster and Blue. :( Why can't these things happen to people who drive rusty old pieces of crap that they don't even care about? For some reason other people seem to think that just because we drive an old car, it isn't important to us.

What SUCKS is TPG's (My internet (NON)Servce provider) policy on "Undesireable content.
Because I'm on a "Buisiness" plan they filter the content I can surf and naughty words get a score and eventually I cant get into a site anymore - believe it or not skewty you using the word "Sucks" was enough to get this post banned. - A nice big ACCESS DENIED message.

Anyway on the scale of things Quickbug I suppose I should be grateful - truly sorry to hear about this I hope it works out ok 4 you - do we have an update on the costs yet (Yeah I know its more than the $$).

..... So how am I here if this site is banned ?

Hehe one of my functions in life (and my job) is to occaisionaly poke at computer security stuff.
Scores so far in Oz
Best - ANZ bank
Worst (by far) TPG, Take a bow guys you make me cringe.

Shite...I just passed that Tarago (SJI248)not more than 30 mins ago. It was parked in a Shell servo on Kingsgrove Road northside off the M5 East turnoff.
Silver with some factory black/gray graphics on the side. Drivers door and front corner smashed in. Young Asian girl sitting in the passenger seat.
What's happening?
Took down the rego and checked as soon as I got home.

I so wanna stick my boot up that kids ****!!!

Asian girl? really? It was full of young middle eastern guys when they hit me....

I dont have costs for the repairs yet - i have to locate the owners/driver, then get my car quoted and send them a letter of demand. Find out then if they are insured etc....

Im really screwed up - i drive my car everywhere and getting to work is all messed up - there is no public transport where i am....

I think you can find the owner thru the RTA...you used to be able to do it years ago, I don't know if it changed.
If I had a number I would have called, checked and parked them in, always keen for some excitment like that!
Have the police been any help?

I had a chick run into me a couple of years ago and she didn't stop. I called the cops with her licence number, and they chased her up, went round to her house.

When they had agreement from her that she did it they gave me her name, number and address I think.

Hope you have some success too.

1. Ive had 2 dickheads run into me in the past 12 months or so.

2. did you report it to the police...

3. if your insured just ring your insurance and let them do the leg work to get it from the other driver.

4 i say stuff eum i am sick of them just sue them or let yr insurance do the work for you.

Getting hit and run sucks. Hopefully they find the cretin who ran off.

Btw, Rhys, your comment is pffensive to many and definitely against the federal Racial Hatred act and the Victorian Racial And Religious Tolerance act. I'm not going to edit it (which gives us vicarious liability), but you should - and soon.

Think before you post. It's absolutely fair enough to express your displeasure, but it's not okay to spread racial vilification here. What happens if they're born here like I am? If I do a hit and run, do I get to go back to England because that's where my parents come from? No, and neither should they. They will pay for their crime of not stopping at an accident through the justice system. For failing to stop, they would lose their license for two years under Victorian law, for example. Hard to say, laws vary by state and judges do some weird things.

The cops say it could take up to SIX MONTHS to do the leg work coz of the back load of work they have :o:o:mad::mad:
The bastards could fix their car and deny it all by then!!!

I am only insured TPPD - if you can find an insurance co that will comprehensively insure an under 25 with mods like mine and not charge me two kidneys and a liver then pleaaaaaaaaaaase let me know...

So for now I have to do the legwork!!

Im not sure that the rta will give out their info due to the privacy act - but ill give it a a bash anyway. Bet they say let the coppers handle it.
I dont even have the money to get my steering and suspension fixed now then deal with the rest later. :(

Shannons

Shannons win my vote

Someone smashed into my old purple bug outside my house. I came out one morning and the car was on the pavement, and no sign of anyone. I thought it was a hit and run! The Mrs told me to call the cops and low an behold there had been a crash earlier that morning and a car had spun into mine. The cops said they were just about to call me (yeah right!).

Anyway Shannons let me choose my body shop, sent an assessor out the next day, and the following day the car was in being fixed. It was ready 3 days later. Most efficient service, and I didn't have to fill in a single form.

Go Shannons
