Evil Bug

Given my historic racer is in Herbie theme, my Dad only tried to get me to do that last week with building the spare car. I was leaning towards doing a General Lee, like what was posted on here a while back- thought that would be cool having both Herbie and General Lee competing.

But given that I didnt know what the evil bug looked like, I guess a lot of people wouldnt either. Am just happy that people know who Herbie is.

The movie was a TV sequel called the lvoe bug - Herbie rides again.

The evil bug was called Horace the hate bug....

http://www.geocities.com/lovebugfans/moviecar2.html

heres a thread on the bug...It's part of the promo for the new one coming out called herbie reloaded.

Hope it helps

I know of Horraces in the making,

the movie was called the love bug, it was made for tv in 1997,

Which basically means no one wanted to invest any money into it.

The Herbie they made looked as good as some of the lamest Herbie replicas around, wrong sunroof colour, wrong Font for the numbers etc, which is amazingly pathetic given the ease with which a good number decal kit can be made or purchased.

The story also deviated fairly drastically from what herbie fans knew about herbie, like the history lesson on Herbie didnt make sense given the year of the car etc,

No one seems able to explain how herbie , who is known to be extrordinarily special to his owners etc comes to find himself in junkyards and dodgie car yards like he has been discarded as junk.

But Hey, thats the movies, worse than that, its a kids movie, but worse than that its a Disney kids movie/movies

Most movies I see, can be disected and labelled as absolute nonsense, look at MI:2 the Triumph motor bikes turn into Knobby tyred dirt bikes as soon as they hit the sand. It doesnt make any real sense, nor does getting into a helicopter just to fly all the way into the outback in just a few seconds just to look at a laptop that they took with them. It just doesnt make any scense

Horrace would also be unregisterable in Australia with its limited vision windows etc, anyone making a Horrace replica would need to be able to remove the fluted covers off the windows.

I cant wait to see someone do a Herbie Fully loaded in Australia.

use one way vision film, the same sort of stuff they use for the side of bus digital wraps, i used this stuff on my old 63, made the rear windows all white, was pulled over once cause the cop thought i had no/painted windows, but was happy with them as you can see out fine, just not see in.. would not look 100%, but i think it would be a laugh..

I think you will find that the Horrace photo, above is a photo of a replica, the one in the film had fluting on the side windows etc.
or maybe they used computer graphics to add bits to him.

they imply that that those two are genuine cars,
but i think they enhanced it with computer graphics in the movie,

Me make a horrace? if I had another bug, i might but I'd rather make a General lee from a dodge I found in Ankansas, or If I can ever find a delorean thats with in my budget, I would make a time machine.

But it wont be long, I know there is one one its way to the show scene not too far from here.

well, just make sure ur herbie is at home...u don't want horrace to try to beat it up. not until u've checked it out thoroughly for any nasty extras...
