Can you get by without wipers when you've got safaris? How do they work together? I've got safaris but there are no wipers... this wouldn't pass rego I doubt? :blah

wouldnt pass rego. but i very rarely if at all use the wipers. they remain folded down all the time. do you have the safari mounts for the wipers so they can be relocated, adn the one eye duck?

also what year have you got. the early models use a spring action in the wiper arm, the later use a hinge system.

Wipers on splits are crap anyway, there is not enough pressure in the arm to actually push the blade against the window.

What I use is a product called Rainex, its available from most auto supply stores like Supercheap or most motor bike stores.
You polish the Rainex liquid into the glass and it repells the rain.

I drive my bus in all weathers including the rain and I dont have to use my wipers.
That way you cah keep your wipers in the one eyed duck.

Thanks guys that's valuable info. And I don't have the safari mounts for the wipers. My kombi had been converted into a towable office by its previous owner, and so they took the wipers off. :o

It's a 61 Twoguns. Your fold-away looks swell~
