Bulb Help

Hi all,

My daughter has decided it is time to unleash the beast from within the oily, dirty, badly-painted, but reliable 69 bug. I am in the process or arranging another speedo for it (in kilometres per hour - much better for driving lessons)...and so when I install it, we're looking at giving the car that overall performance boost it needs.

Thats right, we're going to look at changing the colour of the bulbs in the speedo.

I have 2 questions here:

- how accessible are the bulbs for the speedo? Bear in mind that the speedo will be out of the car at the time.

- what colour bulbs are available to fit in place of the current ones? I don't want to have to modify the receptacles etc so just want straight swaps. I know she is looking at the general (white) illumination bulbs, don't know what she wants to go to (maybe amber, green, mmmm red?), can you also change bulb colours for the warning lights? That is, Oil, Gen, etc?

Thanks all.

the bulbs for the Speedo are easy to get to, they are in the back, just pull them out, you can buy bulb covers from super cheap, red, green.. etc, don't know how it will go..

as for the other lights there is a transparent plastic cover that's makes the lights a particular colour, id say you'd have to pull the thing apart to get to them..
