Fuel Problems

I need a little help...
I've got an 40horse beetle with a 1776, its running a 34pict carb and a 009 dizzy.

Now all is good untill you drive enough to get some warmth into the engine (95 degrees) and then stop the car, like to get petrol or something. Then he won't restart! I reckon the fuel is evoporating out of the bowl?
If you have enough battery you can crank till he starts, or wait a while for him to cool down then it will start like normal.
Another way to fix the problem is to drive with the lid propped with hoodjax, this drops the running temp 25 degrees (to 70 degrees), the hoodjax are not really fixing the problem and are not practical for my daily driver, weather and stuff.

Any ideas???

It doesn't get hot enough in there to cause fuel vaporisation at this time of year, especially with Hoodjax. Unless your fuel line it dangerously close to the exhaust. Check routing of yoru fuel line under the car - it might be near an exhaust pipe where you can't see it

I had a problem yesterday with my car stopping - I had taken the fuel tank out to replace the in-tank filter and when I re-installed it I kinked the fuel line. It would run for a couple of minutes, then stop due to lack of fuel.
