I would love to buy a Barndoor 23 window deluxe walk through, Fully restore it to show room condition and then slam it to the ground with Sprintstars
and Judson the engine 3/4 Westy roof rack, Empi flat dish wheel, original
push button radio, ambulance fans, "Basta's disengaging ribbed semaphores, swivel front seats, steering lock, shift lock, side cargo door
steps.

Then i would have all my mates fill the bus and cruise down Chapel Street then on to St Kilda, Safaris & all 8 side pop outs open, warm summer
night with the tunes pumping!!!

If i had any change left (not likely) i would re paint the my Notch to original colour (god bless nellie )

Pay out the car loan so I can save up for an RSI... or alternatively spend the $1092 per month on restoring the type 3 to its former glory.

Hmmm

Think I might travel to some country that has lots of old VW's still on the road, find a decent one for sale and import. This way I satisfy two
passions, travel and VW'S.

Brazil, South Africa and now Ethiopia.

Hey learning to Salsa and Samba so that when I do get to South America I can dance like the locals. The trip may be a few years of yet

I'd buy a rough split window beetle (lets say $10K), spend around $25K on engine (2.6L type IV with 48IDAs etc etc), spend the other $15K on
running gear (4 wheel wide 5 discs, IRS conversion maybe, BRM replicas)....basically end up with a cool old looking POS (piece of $hit) that can run
11s and handle well too.

Of course this is just one of my grand plans!!!

$50K

Hmmmm, where to begin?

Unfortunately at this stage I would have to spend the first $50k on the right house/shed.
The house has to be comfortable enough to appease the missus for the next 20-30 years while I indulge in my VW obsession.
The shed must be attached to the house (so she can find me without long walks in the rain), big enough to house my VW obsession (BIG), with a
pot-belly stove, toilet, hot & cold running water, single and three-phase power and 10' ceilings.
I've drawn the plans already, so $50,000 would make a great deposit!

Col, what the hell is wrong with you man? Your answer should consist of fixing the 18 projects you have..

Me? Hmm... I think a Split Panel. The way I want it. 2.6L or something. 15K in the motor.. Actually... Make it 25K. 10K paint, the rest on bits and
pieces.. No accessories. Well... Maybe a couple. Satin black, airbags,
red highlights... Hot Rod styling.. Must... stop.. now... getting... too.... excited... to ..... type.................... |

hmmm maybe buy an early beetle vert or oval rag and keep it dead stock and get it resto'd. And then i would slip in a hot Type IV, 911 fan/alt,
into my 63 , respray in 2 tone, wood slat roof racks, disc conversion hmmm... and maybe if there is any money left i would get a splitty, maybe a 23
window or more likely a camper/microbus and put a mild type 4 into it.

hmmm dreams

After I gained permission from the Minister of Finances - the Wife- I would find the rare [sold in Sydney in 1968] VW beetle - white - with white 1/4window frames & front blinker housings , early tail lamps & bumpers. I believe it is a very rare [in Aust] 1967-68 model. It was in New
Condition at the VW Nationals a few years ago.:thumb then a white late model Karmann Ghia Cabrio with a Peter Richards 1835 engine with Air
Conditioning.[only to be used with the hood up ] then for the Wife ,I
would put wide wheels & a holley bugspray on Her VICTA mower
plus Air Horns, for when I have to refill the tank on the Victa
I would then invent a Safari Windscreen for Beetles..:o and also proper wipers, that wipe the complete screen and then park out of sight!! and with the remainder - I would put in the bank... Which Bank??

they'de be fine.

A Shed, definately a Huge shed,I had one once then sold the place, just after I put it up.
60 foot by 27 foot with ten foot walls, I can't think how many splittys I could have fitted in that shed! (sigh)
Perhaps a Two car garage would be better on a suburban block! just somewhere up the backyard, I could do the welding and panelwork and not have to
worry about burning down the house (my garage is underneath!)

$50k

Wow! Some awesome ideas so far.

Ok, if we're talking $50k for VW stuff only, like after the shed and stuff.....

An eight-wheel-drive, six-wheel-steer, safari-windowed, single cab, with a hydraulic tipping tray and a mid-mounted 2.8-3.0 litre type IV, possibly
with a low-boost supercharger, built for low revs with gobs of torque, hooked up to a full-manual-kitted 4-speed auto with a lock-up converter with a
divorced transfer case with hi/lo range. I'd also modify the old Citroen air suspension to give me an adjustable ride height, so I can lift it
when off-roading.

And no, I'm not just joking.

Before anybody starts, I'd use a totally rust-gutted ute for this project, since I'd be cutting most of the bottom half out anyway.

I'm torn between Spooks, Colins and Jenz replies.

10k - I think I'd put a deposit on a house with a shed.
10k - Take the minister of leisure to Wolfsberg via Mexico.
10k - Buy her a 2.4 litre injected KG cabrolet.
10k - Set up a AVD website with an annual meeting for all members.
.9k - Buy a LWB Sharpbuilt buggy kit and tools.
.1k - Fix my brakes, hub seals, electrics, carbie kit, fire extinguisher and a coat of paint.

The Bronze.
Call me if I won. I need to book tickets.
