cool glad I could help out a fellow enthusiast :) and for all those that were wondering what was up: dwell was 20 deg :( timing was 4 deg after TDC (hi George...keep saving for a timing light) :( balance tube was off and LHS carb top was leaking.

Sooty I'd say that your engine is in very good condition, but I would definatly get yourself a muffler ASAP :) Best of luck

want to come, but i'm not sure if old tom will make it up the range.....hate for him to have a heart attack after all of 555bug's work :)

Thinking of taking him for a test run ( if we're going to be humilated i'd prefer to do it in private)

chugging up in 1st really would not be all that fun.

There's plenty of people going from Brissy, so never fear. The BLBVW are aranging a group to travel together if you want company.
I'll be going in Andy (my Kombi) and we tend to take it easy, so your sure not to be the last one up the hill.

Tassielittle has already posted this info here and on the BLB web page.
There are a few of us on the northside if your worried about getting Blacksoil alone.

I don't know my family is a bit of a zoo ;)

my 1.5 and 2.5 year old are used to jumping in the kombi and taking it for a 'drive' not to mention all of the other extremely loud games . They would think that all of the other kombi's had turned up just for them.
could be dangerious. :o
anyone know how long the day could be...perhaps it will be nanny to the rescue

Bring the whole zoo!! There will be plenty there to keep them occupied. They can even paint a Kombi there on the day.
If your meeting the others at Blacksoil leaving ~8:30 we should be up there before 9:30. From there stay as long or short as you like (allow at least a couple of hours). Then another ~1 1/2 hrs to get home.
