hi Bix, now i think from memory the is a grub screw that holds it in, or it may b just a small screw. without going to have a look myself, it is tricky to work out, but keep looking.
will get back to u if ur still having trouble

Here is the 1971 switch..
this is NOT the same as the 1958...
that should be 1968 > 1971

undo the 6 mm socket headed cap screw that holds the alloy housing to the column/tube , remove the housing with the key in the on position, once you have that off you will be able to see the small grub screw(use small flat blade screwdriver)

ok after reading this last night i found a small hole on in the barrel, its between the barrel and the colum, i tried pressing this down and turing the key and pulling but i won't go.

I have also removes the cap screw, and taken the circlip out of the colum, but there is a white platic cap holding teh bearings and i assume the whole thing on to the colum?

put the circlip back on you don't need to remove that, the plastic sleave just pops off ,then the housing.
