Buggy Toolkits.....
OK Buggy Guys, with my buggy being close to ready, I am trying to compile a list of stuff that I should have with me when I take the buggy out, for
both short trips (ie around town) and longer trips. Eg:
Short trips: fuses, 2 adj spanners, 1 phil head screwdriver, 1 flat s'driver,
Long trips: add to above - jack, spare wheel (size of front wheels), car cover, oil bottle, funnel
This is to cover basic breakdown....so, what suggestions do you guys have, from your experience? I am not going to make myself ready for major
repairs on the side of the road (eg carrying spare coil, points, etc) but just want the basics that I should have.
Ideas?

Truly, you bring whatever you feel necessary. (follow your conscience!)
Anything can happen on and off the road, you can never be too prepared.
I'm a bit pidantic when it comes to preparation, i would even bring a spare battery. (A flat battery is one of the major causes of break down). So
really, its a personal feeling of what you should bring. Anything your not sure of whether you should bring or not, BRING IT.
Well, thats my personal opinion.

Zip ties are always handy things and pliers come in handy. A wheel brace too or your spare is pretty useless. :P Also a good sturdy jacking plate is
a necessity in the beach or in the bush. You should proabably carry some spares, but only simple stuff that's more likely to let you down like fuel
filter, coil, a spare lead, alt. belt and the tools to change them.
Chris, you'd carry a battery? :jesus

ALWAYS carry spare points and a belt and oil.A couple of shifting spanners and screwdrivers and a good jack will get you home most times:rudolf.WD 40
or similar is also handy

I wouldn't bother with a battery but jumper leads definetly.
I would carry a snatch strap, air compessor, jack (with a base plate), tyre pressure guage, basic tools (screwdriver, pliers, adjustable spanner etc),
puncture repair kit, wheel brace and first aid kit.
If I was travelling long distance I would take water, spare points, fuses, oil, jerry can of fuel to name a few things...

Spare leads are good to, as the bouncing around can cause micro fractures in the silicon and bump then no spark!!!
Happened to me in stockton with my coil lead and had to limp to town on 3 cylinders after some lead 'rearranging'!!! Happened to a few ppl i
know!!!
U'll soon get to know what will break and need fixing on a regular basis then just take everything u have with ya in case!!!:party

Yikes! Well, as I won't be going off-road for at least the next little while, I'll scale this list down to the essentials and see how I go. I'll
need a trailer for the buggy with this!
As its SWB, I better modify the back part into a ute and put a lid on it....hmmm, theres an idea....

All of my stuff fits into a back pack. I just keep the back pack in the garage and when I want to go off road I chuck it in! Too easy

Clutch cable and accelerator cable too.
Also, make sure that your adjustable spanners are actually big enough to undo things like the genny pulley nut....

wood to jack onto

tyre plug puncture kit

tyre pressure guage
fire extinghuiser
umm.....and quite a few other things im sure i cant think of.
have a look in the idiot guide. start with his basic kit (with in reason) and add to it.
