Generator to Alternator

Generator to Alternator swap. What are the pros and cons?
I've heard good things about an alternator conversion, but my genny is working fine. The only problem Im having is that with all the gadgets Im running at the moment, Im getting that dimming scenario.
Im pretty sure my genny is rated at about 35 amps. Is this enough?

Will swapping over help to stop this?
Cheers

The alternater charges from idle whereas the genny needs to be spun more to get the same output
