complete 1800 Type 4 motor & acc for sale $800 incl gearbox
I have in a couple of weeks for sale an 1800 out of our 1975 Bus. This motor is to be sold with everything attached to it as it comes out of the
vehicle from Chrome exhaust tip to Flywheel and from Air cleaner box to tinware and Heat exchangers. NO Starter motor included.
The motor had bottom end full line bore etc rebuild 110,000 km's ago, and 10,000 kms ago two reco heads fitted. The Dizzy was fully rebuilt with all
new baseplate and bushes a couple of years ago, and the carbies were done a few years ago. Everything works, it starts easy, idles well, carbies are
in tune. Tinware has been repainted, engine bay tinware seal is 12 months old. Exhaust is German.
It does have an oil leak from the fuel pump insulator plate thing.
It goes good with no probs. It is due for 10,000 service and oil change, but I am not going to do that on an engine I am selling.
WHY? I am about to spend a ridiculous amount of money putting in a Subaru engine because I am ill. If you know me, I am never content with stock stuff
and like to go to the next level.
Engine No AP048037
Price $800
Location Box Hill (Melb) - pick up only
Name Peter

Hard? That's up to you, you can buy a complete kit which gives you everything you need to bolt straight on. Alternatively a cheaper option is to buy
all the type 1 bits and adapt it on yourself, a fair bit involved this way.
Some kit's require machining the case breather off, but other than that it's just fabricating tinware to adapt the type 4 barrels to a type 1 fan
housing.
There's plenty of info about if you search old posts.

I have added an 1800 gearbox. it is now absoloutley complete except the 4 bolts that hold the clutch pressure plate to the flywheel, and the twin carb
linkage rod. The gear box was driven about 40 km by myself and felt to change gears ok, but I actually can't comment on any other qualities other
than it looks like the side outputs have a bit of side movement, and it leaks a lilttle oil. I am including it as a sweetener to sell the motor.
I am unable to physically lift anything at all whatsoever at the moment, so this whole lot can only be picked up from Box Hill where I have left it. I
cannot physically do anything to help ship it, who ever buys it must come and pick it up.

Thats fine.. I have a 76 dual cab coming over from SA.. It has an early 1.8L subi in it and I need to fit it back to a VW engine.. (It has NSW plates
but is now out of Rego).. If your setup is as described, it will fit the bill just fine..
