Panel Pins.

To answer your question Goony-goonoo the pins are spot welded onto the panel and a slide hammer attaches to the pin and pulls out the dent. Very handy when you can't get a hammer and dolly in there. Here's a pic.

No. I don't like the red. I know the colours I'm painting it. I also have a 57 Panelvan that was owned by shell. I'm thinking a doing that one back to original.

Their hard to find. Anyone that has one will probably not want to part with it. There are other systems out there but they cost $2000 for a cheap one and go up from there.

I've done a little more.

I've spent the last few weeks stripping the underside of everything that can be removed and trying to get all the dirt out of the chassis. The next thing I have to do is to buy the repair panels. While I'm waiting for them I'm going to start on the gates.

I also replaced the rubber rollers in the spit with sealed bearings inside steel pipe. It spins so easily I think I'll have to fit a locking pin to stop it turning while I'm working on it. The spit cost about $350 to make and I recommend anyone who has the space and is doing a full resto to build or get one. I actually enjoyed making it as much as working on the bus.
