IMPORTING A BUG

Hi All
I have a 1979 Karmann Cabriolet Beetle sitting in a garage in Spain - its not moved for the last 3 years.
Does anyone have any experience in importing a car into WA (or anywhere else in Oz)
I havn't studied the subject yet - but any help would be most appreciated...!!
Thanks
roca

Hi Roca,
Follow this link http://www.dotars.gov.au/transreg/vsb/vsb_10.aspx  and it will give you some good info. Basically, if it is older than 30 years, there is no problem. You have to get it registered in WA so it will just need to be roadworthy for them. You also have to get approval from the government before you ship it.

With having owned it for 3 years overseas, you may be able to get a discount on the import taxes as well.
