Where would i find Fibreglass panels for an Early Notch

Looking at ANY panels that may be available for an early Notch. Will consider ANYTHING! Complete fronts , bonnets , bootlids , doors , whatever.

Does anyone know where i can source or does anyone have any off this stuff lying around?

Many thanks

I have never seen any for an early notch and if you could get them i'm guessing that they would be pretty expensive.

Type 3 Fibregalss Panels

Hi Guys,

Fibreglass Panels for a type 3????

I will try to track down a company in the states that does some Ghia stuff and from memory a little bit of Type 3, but as it is a protected industry the import tarriffs would be really high, probably find some surborad manufacturer with Lungs full of Fibreglass who would make a cast off your car or panel, then you have the market cornered.

Cheers,

Calcool

If you just want fibreglass panels the same as stock..or a bit modified, I can make them. Problem is cost. Materials wouldnt be that much...its the hours in the mould. U2U me and we can discuss options. I just do not think anyone else would want a set.
Personally, I would flare the gaurds a touch...pumped !

Ideally i'd love glass panels all round but i know we are talking megabucks. Interested to see what is available. Front and rear valances arent a prob , nor is bootlid but a bonnet and front guards would be a good start. Type 3's are heavy so any loss in weight is good.

Any more info's good , thanks

Talk to the drag race boys.
Used to work for next to a place in Brissy that manufactured drag cars.
The guy who owned the shop had a pro stock XR6 with all fibregalass front panels, at the time it was a one off.
There are plenty of guys around capable of doing the work....you can get someone to make the moulds buy them yourself and make some money from them...or if there's money to be made quite often these guys will make the mould keep them and try to make money by knocking up fg guards etc.
Having a notch myself I would be good to have some fg parts available.

Type 3 Notch Fibreglass Panels

Aussie Vee Dubbers ot the rescue again,

Good on you for finding the Fibreglass manufacturer in the states.

And to the goon who is laughing at drag Type 3's cast your mind back a couple of years and see the Ro Lummus Racing Drag early notch, one of the best looking drag cars ever. If you don't like all in the family get out.

i am building a 65 Notch at present , all parts now nearly accounted for and car awaiting its strip down.

2180 with Twin 48 IDA's, Upright Porsche Shroud
17 Inch Cup 2's
944 vented discs all round
Air Bags if the finances can stretch

Go Danny

Yep thats AVD for you , better than goggle! They have those guards in stock and i'm waiting on some idea of shipping costs.

Don't mind the ribbing about Type3 racing , i'm expecting comments like that , maybe not off fellow dubbers but there you go. Will get alot more stick off the guys running v8's , ricers etc so water off a ducks back really. LOL funny i even had it from a few companies and race shops. "You wanna do what to a notch , na stick with a beetle" or " If your only looking at running 13/14's why bother" !

Just imagine smoking a few of them though , that would soon shut them up

Thanks again for the info , knew there was somewhere!

Cheers Dan:thumb

cool more early type 3's in the build, means i should go down to the shed and finish my 68 squareback. Interested to see availiability of guards. Boat builders should be able to make a mould. or swimming pool builders.

Hey Dannyboy67

We at VOLLKOMMEN ART have a wide range of fibreglass and carbon fibre panels. Full range of early beetle, T1 and T3 front speaker kick panels, T1 1500 doors and all early notch panels except doors. We even have a hornet type bonnet scoop just incase you want to do Rons thing (RLR) and force fresh air through the tunnel to the air box. It looks good but he said it was a waste of time. All our work is excellent quality, hand layed, light and durable unlike the American rubbish wich is not even worth the freight let alone the import taxes.

If you are interested in light weight panels or performance parts, feel free to contact me at
