Hey thanks for all the u2u messages guys... I didn't think there would be so much interest in this car...!!!
I was going to reply to you all one at a time but got busy so he's one for all...

ok, I have had an offer on the kit of $500 and whilst I'm very tempted with that, I need some room in my yard to make a start on the Volksrod project so I would prefer to see the car gone complete rather than piece by piece..

The kit is complete, with front and rear fiberglass bumpers, whale tail, shovel nose bonnet, wide guards and Carrera running boards/skirts.. It has wheel adapters and what looks like torana wheels fitted...
The car is an early beetle and was driving and registered as a convertable.. It has an approved roll bar fitted, which is also padded and has a custom cover..
The roof is in good condition, it has no rips although the plastic windows need to be replaced..
I have not tried to start the engine, it has been sitting for several years and I do not wish to damage it but firing it up without lubricating the bores first..
The engine is a twin port and has a webber fitted, (which I will most probably keep, along with the manifold).. There is a remote oil filter fitted and mods like these usually indicate the motor has been hopped up a little...
It could be an 1835...??
It should run, the car only became disused due to the owner becoming ill and unable to drive it, so it has no problems mechanically... Door hinges need oil and the spiders need to be chased away...
There are small patches of rust appearing in the bottoms of the doors, but I could not see any other rust in the car...
It has a good looking sports steering wheel but that will need a cover or retrim due to slight sun damage in one spot and some time ago the interior was retrimmed with fabric on the door panels and new carpets at the time... It also has high back bucket seats and sheepskin seat covers...

As I said, I have had an offer of $500 for the kit, so if I can get $700 for the car, complete, but without the weber and manifold, I'd be happy with that...

Harry, Delivery to Melbourne will cost an extra $825.95 to your doorstep with AutoTrans... (I only got that one quote)..

I have more pictures if there is something in particular that anyone wants to see..
oh, it has 3 bullit holes... But they're only stickers...;)
I can deliver in Perth or country areas or transport depots..

Thanks again..

If it's out of rego the engineers certificate is no longer valid. Any changes also require the engineers certificate to be either redone or added to.

Not in WA althought I don't know about the rest of the country...
If it was rego'ed before and the rego just expired, (this car was not put off the road with a work order, they just didn't pay the renewal), then it only needs to go over the pits, not get re-engineered...
It still has the plates fitted, so it's very easy for them to confirm that it was all ok before..
