Im interested in buying 1600tp or bigger engine

Hi as the title says, i have a 1600 single port which we were planning to convert to twin port but was wondering if anyone in adelaide has a 1600 tp or bigger engine for a beetle.

would certainly prefer running but if we have to rebuild one thats ok to.

let me know what ya got and want to get rid of

Cheers, danielle:kiss

Unless your very lucky theres not a lot of good cores out there especially if your goin bigger,i mean there 30yrs old at least. And then what have you got if you get one, a case that needs a line bore crank that needs a cut and is not counterweighted rods that need rebuilding and heads if they need doing its just cheaper to buy new ones.Start with a decent BARE second hand case from a vw shop that you trust,it will still need work but at least you know what your getting.:duh

Hey there..I have a recoed 1776 for sale. See below thread for details. It's a great engine and hasnt been run since being rebuilt, and I'm only trying to recover the bargain price that I spent on it in the first place. Whilst I am in Melbourne, freight to Adelaide shouldn't be too expensive, and the engine is well worth it.

Hope this interests you.

Cheers,

Steve

hi guys, ryan here, not Danielle.

we have just bought a much better car to base the build on, I tyhink it might actually be worth just throwing an engine in and driving as is for now.. but thats danielles choice.

anyways, we have the old single port, it still ran fine etc when we pulled it out, I just want to at least put twin port heads on while its out (and apart) to give us a little more scope to work with.

but if we can find a good cheap engine thats better than what we have, that may be the better option.
