F.S. 1964 Type 3 squareback
Hey guys,
I want to sell my 1964 square to fund the purchase of a 1969 fasty. Basically y square car needs a bit of TLC (ehich I dont have time to perforn)
whereas the fasty I'm considering has a RWC and reg etc so I can get it on the road immediately, and slowly improve it. I have not purchased the
fasty at this stage, and if it sells before I manage to sell my square it's off the market so if anyone is keen please act quickly.
Anyway, the basic specs on the square is as follows.
- 1964 model, frst registered as a 1965
- converted to front disk brakes and 4 stud all around
- converted to rear IRS
- standard 1600 TP, twin carby from later type 3 (runs great)
- 4 spd manual non syncro first) shifts snoothly etc
- rust wise is solid apart from a section in the rear, rigt hand side floor (have repair section to be welded in)
- All seats in good nick with original houndstooth interior (rare I'm told), door trims also houndstooth generally in good nick
- all tyres have excellent tread
- all electrics work fine (apart from clock (as usual))
I bought the car a few months ago in Sydney, flew up and drove it down. There was only one hiccup on the way..a fuel blockage which caused a breakdown
in Gunning (NSW) about half an hours Sydneyside of Yass. The blockage was rectified by fiddling with the RHS carby and was a result of the car sitting
around unusued for a few months (petrol gummed up).
The car cruised at 70-75MPh (can be verified by Paddo on this forum who was freaking out a little) and apart from the fuel blockage had no other
probs.
So, my asking price for the car is $2250 ONO (owes me a little ore plus the cost of transport etc which I am writing off). Car is an excellent project
with only the floor rust repair and some TLC required. I was going to repsray but would make a great rat all the same. The car has also been lowered
nicely (a good balance between scraping over every bump and loking half decent)
The price includes the replacement floorpan section, but for an extra $200 I can organise it to be welded in.
I have no doubt the car could be driven back to Sydney or further if needed on a temporary permit, so transport will cost no more than a
Jetstar/Virgin flight and a tank or 2 of petrol.
Car is located in Hughesdale, Melbourne (near Chadstone Shopping Centre) and my mobile number is 0408137017.
I'd love to hang onto her however I want any early type 3 on the road ASAP so the fasty seems like my quickest way there.

Steve, you have to tell me when u are going to do these things. Lucky that ur doing it to fund something else or u would be in the shit.
Drove with Hasselhoff (aka Steve) from Sydney in this car, all I can remember was that Yass was party central and that the square cruised very well on
the freeway, did the drive easy.

Mate that's very funny. Why dont you keep your irrelevant posts to the irrelevant post section..oh hang on there isnt one. I have an idea...if
you're not interested in the car dont hijak my posts. I really hate this kind of shit. And another thing, I have bought and sold a couple of cars
recently due to a change of heart, but how does that make me any different to half the other blokes on this forum, Plus I haven't hiked the prices up
for any profit but in fact lost money so what is the problem?
How would you like it if someone hijacked a for sale post of yours? Thanks for possibly hampering my chances of a sale for what is a good project. If
you had any balls you would reveal yourself.

sorry you took my reply the way you have stephen, but what makes you different from most other people on this forum is that in the past month or 2
you've sold an early model squareback, bought a splitty pick up,bought another squareback, bought a ureka, sold the squareback and bought a fast
back, and in one of those post i remember one of your friends saying that you've owned about 40 odd vee dubs wether or not thats a joke i'm not sure
but you certanly did'nt have the same reaction as you had with my reply.most people would be luky to have 10 cars in their lifetime, but if buying
and selling vee dubs on a regular basis is what turns you on then sweet i'm not saying it's a bad thing i just thought you and everyone els here may
have seen the funny side to it,as for revealing myself i've got nothing to hide i've tryed to post photo's but could'nt work it out as i'm
useless on a computer

Goony...stop shit stirring. You obviously have alot of time on your hands to be researching my history and for what it's worth, buying and selling a
few vw's in recent times (certainly more than the 2 months you suggest..more like 6 months, and I didnt end up buying the fastback) doesnt turn me
on, and I have lost money on every car bought and sold. How do you expect me to take your comments when I am simply trying to sell a car..you're
comments could be taken a number of ways but from a complete stranger it would seem like shit stirring to me. Suggesting I could replace the trading
post implies that I am a dealer looking to make money out of VW's, and while there isnt anything wrong with that in my opinion, it is not what I am
about.
In future I'd suggest that you consider your posts more carefully, especially when it's someone you know nothing about.

Hey steve,
Besides unwanted posts how is the sale of the type 3 going.
U mentioned it was sold pending payment and collection?
I have meet you before Steven, and despite having a few
issues in the mini world (i think you can remember who i am
- swift sunroof should ring a bell)
i can assure all of those out there
that steven is not the sort of bloke whos interested in a quick
buck, or out to rip anyone off. His cars that he decides to sell
have been sourced and researched, and for what ever
the reason is for him selling a vehicle, it would be genuine.
U have u2u also.
1958 Beetle, 1966 VW Beetle, 1996 Holden Statesman!
Its an obsesion for engines and fuel....

Thanks guys...some people just like to have a dip I guess...whatever thrills them I suppose. Anyway, the car has been sold to a happy buyer who
intends to get it on the road very soon. I'm just happy to see it go to someone who can get it back on the road quickly.
Cheers,
Steve
