Lowered kombi?

Hey everyone, i have a lowered late bay kombi that is droped 1 outer spline in the rear but i want to go lower. How many splines can you go before you cant get the wheels on or off the rear anymore without using adjustable springplates? I was thinking about turning one inner spline as well?
