I have seen on other boards where ppl put robots in as dummy ppl, sort of like logging in twice or more yourself with different names... not sure why the hell you'd bother, but I know I have seen it.

Does it mean search engine bots?

Search engines have programs called bots that crawl the web by following links, and they automatically update the search engine's results with whatever pages they find. Because they crawl the web, they're also sometimes called spiders. The bot for Google is called Googlebot.
