I think the bad (not really bad, just critical) reviews were of Lindsay Lohan ( not that I could see anythign wrong with her :P ) or they could have
been about some of the 'technical' mistakes eg: engine cover from one new beetle to an old beetle....
I don't think anyone complained about the car
personally, I liked it and want to go see it again three from me.nn[ Edited on 6-7-2005 bypenguin ]

I saw it and really enjoyed it.
I cant see how the people can complain that they got a rocker cover from a NB to fit an original when the thing does wheelies and flips and starts
itself.
Its only a FILM, enjoy it for what it is.
Cheers

I haven't seen it yet, but I was curious about the bad ? reviews....
I did read where it took 45 beetles to make this movie....
I do hope to see it soon....
I watched the early 3 Herbie movies again on Austar
recently, again for the upteen time....
The later Herbie goes Bananas etc... weren't much.....
but I still watch them just to see what is wrong with the car at that particular time in the film....
Like when rear wheels can spin around - there is no engine in the car.... a lot of rust in the bananas Herbie cars.....
I remember reading many years ago how many Beetles where used for the first Herbie MOVIE.... It was considerable too....
BUT its still only Movies made to entertain Us.....
and they do & Did.... Go... Herbie....
