Would you pay more?

Right now fuel stations are cutting back on staff, increasing instore stock and increasing the amount of "self service" tasks for the customer.So...

Would you pay higher fuel prices if you recieved full driveway service?

yes...i do...

the one around the corner...small...but nice...has a 2C mark up on everyone else round us...and they r always chockas

all teh retirees, who love full service use them...mums with bubs who dont want to get out of the car us them...and ppls who r lazy (like me) use them....and like i said...they have line ups...

it started only because mech wife saw someone struggling once...and went out to help..and from there..it took off...

now.....no matter what time it is....there r always ppls lined up.

Another started about 5km awya from us...and its the same!

so ppl pay for it...just check to see hwo many retirees in ur area....if a few...u'll do fine!

PS: the servos had eftpos installed at the pump too....so u dont have to get out of ur car for nething....

Exactly! I work at one that did full driveway service and it was awesome. The area it is in is perfect, 3 schools within walking distance, middle of suburbia, lots of oldies and young families. Now the company in it's wisdom has cut back staff hours and the hours that we can do driveway service. Also a newer computer system has been installed which makes it almost impossible to do service on your own. Now a Woolies servo has opened up the road and as our servo is not on the main road, and is a crappy servo in appearance ( 2 pumps peeling paint) the only thing it had over the competition was driveway service, which has been cut back.

I remember changeing tyres for some retirees when it was quiet because they couldn't do it themselves. And they became loyal customers because of it.

There will always be a market for better quality service at a higher price, not just for petrol but for anything. There will always be some people who want to pay extra for better quality meat, or a better quality stereo, or a better dentist. There is always a market for quality.

I worked as a pump jockey for 18 months, when I was15. I can remember just about all the regulars to this day! They didn't mind spending another couple of cents, so they could get their oil, tyre's, water, battery, checked and screen washed. Plus they also got a yarn out of me at the same time. I can still remeber some of the sights I used to see washing the fairer sex's windows.....

yeah I get the same thing. Cause i'm a local i see regulars all the time when i'm at the shops or in the carpark. Funny as, when friends are like "do you know them?" and i say I serve them at work and they look at me funny.:P I don't see the point of driveing around to find fuel that's only a few cents cheaper either.
