Help:VW Museum in Germany

Hi All,
Can anyone inform me on what the best VW museums/factories are to see when I am in Berlin next month? We are there for 5 days but I only have a leave slip signed by the other half for one day so I am wanting to do a day trip. Any names, directions, addresses and costs would be greatly appreciated.:kiss
Thanks
Greig

:sandrine
Best advise is to go to Wolfsburg...there is VWAutostadt & VW Automusuem & Wolfsburg Castle.
... you could take the train there as the railway station is beside Autostadt.
Its worth a look if you have time
We visited there in October last year.
We bought a loney planet book on Germany, that helped..You can borrow it if you want....Judynn[ Edited on 7-7-2005 by ByronBug ]

Thanks guys and girls,
I already have the lonely planet guide but thanks heaps for the offer Judy. My missus said I can have one full day to see all the VW stuff I want so I will be taking full advantage of that. Hiring a VW or Audi would be heaps of fun, have to see what the budget looks like, all else fails the train sounds nice and easy!
Keep the info coming.
Cheers
Greig

there's two in Wolfsburg.
The Autostadt museum is the new one. Absolutely awesome, and too much to take in for just one day.
There's also what's referred to the "Wolfsburg Museum" on Dieselstrasse. Also very good. :thumb

Have a great time.

We went to Wolfsburg and it is great. Too much to do in 1 day as others have said and we didn't even get the tour of the factory (it only happens weekdays and we went on a Saturday). Still, we liked what we saw. Go by train early to be there at 9am for doors open.

What everybody above has said.
Hint - If you want to do the VW factory "English speaking" tour from the Autostadt. Get across to the nominated point early and check the time of the tour. This will allow you to do other things either side of this. If there are no times posted then ask for special consideration - it worked for me, had a great time.
