Breaking into your kombi with a spoon!
I was having the crappest day yesterday, and then to top it off, discovered I'd locked the keys in the kombi. Bugger!
(I'd even offered a lift to someone, so I had an audience!)
Well, of course, it was the only day I'd actually locked all of Walter's doors and windows etc, except for the two quarter vents down the
driver's side. The one just behind the driver was no good, because there was a cupboard between me and the lock. The other only allowed me
access to the sink. I didn't have my multitool with me (in the other handbag!). The only thing in the sink/within reach was.... a spoon! A
teaspoon!!!
What use is a teaspoon when you've locked yourself out of your pride and joy??? I used it to remove the fixed quarter window from the passenger
side, by prying out the already rather tatty rubber seal. Could then reach doorlock and get in.
I think it impressed my passenger no end! So we started thinking... What's the most useful piece of cutlery for breaking into cars?
What's the most bizarre way you've ever broken into/fixed your car? My ex once fixed a carburetor with a paddle pop stick and a straw!!!
Who can beat that???

LOL!!
Well not quiet a weird way to break in but a weird situation.
I was out at the illegal street drags one night a few months ago.
We were at a meet up point, and i realised i had locked my keys in my car!
Anyways i was prepared and had located a strip of packing tape, and was just sliding it in behind the door seal ever so carefully when the coppers
rolled in.
We got the - "What are you boys doing here? You know this is illegal", then he spots me with packing tape trying to break into my car!!
My mates explained to him that i locked my keys in while i kept going on getting the keys, and tried not to pee myself...
Luckily the copper says hed be back in five and if we were still there he was going to start defecting.
Got the keys a minute or so later and got the hell out of there...
 :P

Back before I really got into VWs I had an LJ Torana, it was my first car. I locked myself out of it a couple of times, and the easiest way in,
especially since in Brisbane you are always parked somewhere near a chemist, is to go buy a $1 nail file and slip it between the glass and rubber of
the 1/4 vent and pop up the latch. They don't have a lock on that model, so it was easy and you just slipped ya arm in and wound down the window
so you can unlock the door. i had quite a collection of nail files, and whenever I gave a mate a lift, he looked at the pile in the console and then
started giving me funny looks....
It was no use trying to explain...

With an Axe!
I had bought a rusty old squareback for parts and couldnt open the boot to get at the engine so we decided to use the axe to cut out the latch.
whack at it as we would it wouldnt come off in the end the top hinges just fell off due to the rust around the hinges
we pissed ourselves laughing though

I claim the best break OUT!
I was moving a Mk7 Jaguar once. To the uninitiated, these are the blue whales of Jags- absolutely huge. I drove it onto the trailer & to the
amusement of the seller, I couldn't open the doors because they hit the sides of the too narrow tandem trailer. The windows were quite small
too. I had to climb out thru the sunroof to escape!

whilst living in cairns i had a shitfighter xd panelvan for work and drove it to airlie beach for newyears to meet up with some freinds anyway had a
few to many and lost keys tryed to break in ended up just smashing the little window to get in and had to sleep on the front seat because my mattress
and gear was gorn ,fell aslep and the cops came and some freinds waiting explained,all cool until i woke in the moring and realied it wasnt my
van,,walked off dazed and confued .thank god kombis dont look the same:beer:party:beer

I never needed a key for my old '65 beetle, all I ever used was a paper clip. It would lock & unlock the doors and start the engine. Come to
think of it I was able to do this on a couple of other early beetles.
