Wow that's really cute!
It looks like something from a Japanese Anime, like the artwork from the guy that did Astro Boy (and Metropolis) |

G'day,
These things were unreal!!! There were at least eight sold from Geo. Innes Motors in Bendigo (Vic) that I tracked down info on.
They were not VW based, the only thing VW was the motor and gearbox and when VW introduced the Type 2 pickup they stopped supplying motors and
gearboxes to Tempo who then fitted Austin motors and ZF gearboxes still in the front wheel drive configuration.
The motors were 1100cc 25hp (not 1200) straight out of the early Beetle complete with Coffee can aircleaner. The only other thing shared with the VW
was the wide five stud pattern but the rims were quite different to VW 16s.
They came in 2 forms either as a tray truck or a van and the people I spoke to that had owned them absolutely loved them.
:cry I wish I could've afforded to buy the 2 that I tracked down :cry Oh well, Never mind.
Cheers, Ian.

Good pic blue vision, that's the go. Note the different wheels on the front, not Tempo but maybe Ford Pilot or something of that era that had
similar stud pattern and a bit wider. Stud pattern wasn't exactly the same but close.

the engine was easy to work on.....***
The engine was easy to work on, as it was in the cabin behind the seat..... You could do a tune up without getting out of the car.....
It would be noisy to be in the cab with the engine going....

Kinda reminds me of Deputy Dawg.
Would go good with a WRX motor in the front running the front driveshafts. Chop the roof about 6 inches and dump it until it is scraping.

its good that some people will spend the time and $$ to keep a representative of unique stuff alive... it dont have to be pretty/vw/fast to be
worthwhile saving....
