12volt to 6volt resistor

Hi all have just on the road a 67 Australian Beetle which has been converted from 6 to 12volt.Just wondering where i would get a resistor to drop the volts from 12 to 6volt so i dont burn the wiper switch out.
At the moment you turn them on there fine turn them off they keep going.
Any help with this problem would be great.

Dude
As far as switches are concerned, for the purpose of your exercise, it makes no difference what you use. 6, 12, 24 or 240 volt! to a certain extent, switches are switches.
Im presuming that the wiper motor has been replaced with a 12 V item yer?
The issue of the wipers remaining on after they are switched off should have very little to do with the actual switch you are using.

as stated above ^^^^^
The switch would not be the issue. The motor would be if it hasn't been converted to a 12 volt motor. It will just run really fast and because it runs so fast when you want it to stop it takes a while because there is little resistance to slow it from the wipers.
here is one i found on classicveedub website.
