I saw them on the road for the first time last Sept when we travelled overseas.
We visited the Van Gogh Musuem in Amsterdam (I think)& right outside was a
security officer for the place loading his 2 german shepard dogs in one.
I went over & had a good look at it....
Only now I am seeing them here....

I am amazed at how big these things are. In pictures I thought they were about the size of the holden combo. When we saw them in Germany with rear
seats in tha back and everything, they were huge. Heaps of room behind the rear seats even. Should be a great delviery van.

They are a lot bigger than they look.. based on the new golf platform though so great handling..
I don't think they come with rear seats but i bet someone will think of that before long..
My one is due in to OZ this week (off the boat).. I should have it by end of month.. On road 27900.. which I think is good value

Were you at the nationals with your yellow twin cab in the swap area and I had a chat with you about your tyres that you had on the ute and you said
that you did a lot of miles on the tyres and that they were same as taxi cabs used.
Was that you or some other Yellow twin cab owner.

That was me.. Funny coincidence you should bring that up.. I got a nail in the tyre yesterday and went back to the tyre shop.. The tyre has 40,000+ on
it and the tread is still excellent.. Apparently cabbies get 100,000 + They are a great tyre (forgotten the brand) ..

It would be great to find out the brand and model that you have been using as I have to replace the 4 tyres on the new van I bought just recently.

Man, you beat me to it. As soon as I saw it I thought the same thing. Get some wheels similar to the wide five five spoke (like this ones form MB) and lower it, add a cool graphic for your business and you are
set... modern day frid :thumb

When I last spoke to a dealer, they said the version with seats will be coming in to Australia. I think they said later this year. It will have all
the windows and things. Looked cool when I saw it. Also saw a factory campervan in the same building at the museum based on the transporter. They
have sent it around the world as a show car apparently.

VW Caddy - Collected it today..
Its such a great vehicle for the money.. the 1.9l turboed diesel is so torquey.. the front wheels lose traction at take off if your a biit heavy on
the pedal.. 3.2cu metres of space in the back.. Hard to compare to the berlingo or combo as they are so much bigger..
I love it!!! Congratulations VW

Isn't the name ironic. It is a vehicle that carries things around called a caddy. And it is based on golf running gear. Put 2 and 2 together and
does that mean there is someone in VW with a sense of humour?

i know volkswagen are highly intellectual when it comes to their advertising, so i may be missing something, but can someone tell me why there is
someone climbing a wall behind the caddy?
i thought they would do a golf joke...

The Caddy also comes in a 7 seater with rear windows.. (Although I thought not yet available in OZ).. Perhaps this is a factory option when purchasing
but I don't remember being offered windows

Hi,
I will be buying a VW Caddy next month. I have searched the Internet for pictures of the 1.9TDI engine and can't find any detail. Also the
suspension details. Do any of you have pictures you would like to post?
Anyone using Biodiesel?
Regards,
Arie

The reason that the holden looks similar is all the van section bodies come from the vw plant in poland and are farmed out to the various
manufacturers.
The previous model caddy and combo were exactly the same from the rear of the front seats backwards for the same reason.
There are heaps of the holden variety getting around with windows cut into them so its only natural some fools out there will do the same to the vw.
Supose its why the old panel vans without windows cut into them are so rare.

read the specs on these ages ago, recon they are the real new kombi, same sort of storage specs, same sort of engine sizes, based on the small VW car
of the day... reasonably priced.

Hello StenGun,
how is the New Caddy?
I am shopping for a new Caddy with the 1.9 TDI engine and the DSG Gearbox.
Could you give me a reliable dealer?
