type 3 squareback coversions
just starting a resto project on a 71 squareback and im looking for some new motorvation, was thinking of a holden 6. what would i be needing for the
EFI setup to run well (eg speed sensor and wiring) also hoping to do rear disk brakes myself i think i should be able to do them, how difficult will
this be.
dont realy want to cut a grill into the front of my baby and have heard of radiators both infront of and behind motor(under the car) is it a
possibility to fit the radiator at the rear of the car using exixting air intake setup and thermo fans. or would i be beter to fit 2 smaler units
infront of the trans axel.
any help would be tops it seems the T3 is the unloved cousin when it comes to info on conversions.

You could mount a radiator in the spare wheel well up the front, and cut underneath. That way no need for a visible grill.

um, I would have thought the square was a bit small for a holden 6, unless you are thinking a V6 that is, but even then it would be cramped and rego
would be an issue in a lot of states. I thought about a similar T3 project a while back. Subies fit well enough, but my pick would be a 13bT. It would
fit real well, match ratios in an Lbug box well, and be alot lighter than most things. you're only issue would be making a water/air intercooler.

Subie WRX. Then you can use a factory water/air intercooler. It's a nice fit with only a sealed engine cover required - Fastys are better for this
reason

won't fit under - it's too tall. It will need about 6 inches of extra heightnn[ Edited on 24-8-2005 by VWCOOL ]

Maybe I wasn't clear - The Subie is the best fit but will NOT fit under the level of the load area as it is now. You will have to build a sealed
'false floor' to cover the engine

the intake manifold will be the highest part if you move the intercooler. its only a few inches higher that the level of the original engine cover.
if you think before you do it, you can make it so you can still put an engine cover on it, but the engine cover will need to be built into a little
box with the roof a couple inches higher.
pretty sure a 13b wont fit under the decklid.
6? youll just be adding even more weight
