Q on fuel pump
went to pick up the new fuel line for the EJ20TT and the quy at the shop said I better make sure I have the correct type fuel pump. If the pump keeps
working al the time it can burn he told me.
I already have a higp output "Pierburg" electrical pump (also used by VW I was told) but how do I make sure it won't burn up? (maybe I'm getting
worried for no reason but just want to be on the safe side)
Does the Subaru ECU maybe have a wire that controls the pump directly?

the guy at the shop is on drugs.
EFI pumps always pump the whole time the engine is running.

lol, I doubt that since he was almost 70 years old
So I just have to hook up the positive wire on the pump to a positive from the ignition (pump on when key is turned over)?

You can hook it up directly if you want to. What type of of ECU are you running?
Most aftermarket and stock ecu's have a dedicated output for the Fuel pump, generally for safety reasons. In short the ECU will stop the fuel pump
when there is no trigger signal detected , in case of an accident.
Cheers Paul.

I'll be using the stock ecu with a modified wiring loom. I'm expecting it in the mail any day now so haven't been able to check if it has a
connection for the fuel pump or not.
