holdenheads bus... long road ahead!!
Hi all,
Just thought i might post some pics of my bus.
I've owned her for about 10 years or so, drove her for about 2 of those then she sat in a garage for about 6-7 then i remembered i had her and
brought her home. thought it was about time i did something with her or got rid of her.
She wont be ready for about 3-4 years as i have picked a good time to start a resto (brought house, 1 x 2 year old and another due in october) but all
good things take time.
she is gonna be a pretty stock family cruzer, the wife and i up front windows open, bugs in our teeth, the kids in the back with a row of seats each.
A big old mal and a couple of little boards on the roof. Ahh that'll be the life.
Also i wanna know if any 1 can tell me what year etc, she is. the rego says 64, but she has a small back window, pointy indicators, and only 8 vents
on her side.

funky colours huh...that red paint is good old enamel, it's probly saved her from any bad rust getting through. The cargo side sill has had it, the
drivers side has just a few bubbles, same with the lower nose, and inside the front wheel arches. no rust in the floors, around the windows, dog legs,
outriggers, chassis. she's not real straight but wot unrestored bus is.
any way thanx for listening/reading any comments/advise would be greatly appreciated.

G'day holdenhead,
It would appear to be an early '63 as it still has low vents but has raised rib on rear wheel arch, should also have small rear axle nut, late '63s
had high vents and rib on wheel arch and big rear door and big axle nuts.
Cheers, Ian.

History????? I brought her from a car yard for $900 with rego.
But I was parked on high st in northcote one day and this smelly hippy came up to me and stated raving on bout how he used to own the car and talking
bout all the good times he had in it. He seemed pretty pleased with the touch of colour he added to the bumpers.
He got me to drive him home in it to pick up a bullbar and "custom made bed" that he still had for it. The "custom made bed" was a shabby box made
from chipboard and another sheet of chipboard to bridge the gap. That went straight in the fire.
Oh yer, when i say i forgot about her i ment that i was working on other projects. A charger & FC panelvan. I always knew I would come back the The
Bussey, as my daugter calls it..

Saw this bus yesterday, the new owner has stripped it back and it has to be one of the cleanest spits ive ever seen, very little to no rust, certainly
not true when some say that all splits need restoring...

BOC make some good welding rods for that type of job, called Woodcraft,
or you can use the Oxy and some small dowel rod.
