Steering Knocking
My super has developed a knock in the steering. When i move the wheel back and forth it only gives a knocking noise when going left. I have check and
cant feel any movement in the ball joints (they were all replaced 3 months ago) Could it be the steering box? (it was rebuilt about 3 years ago) why
does it only do it to one side and not the other.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

My super does the same thing. I have been told it could be uni joints, tie rod ends or steering box. I dont know which it is on my car.

Could be anything. Mine had a knock in the steering box. The hole for the shaft had worn a little so adjusting the box didn't help. Using the wonders
of imagination I'll say that if it were a worn shaft it could go straight from one side of the hole to the other going clunk when it hits. and in the
other direction it runs around the edge of the hole so no clunk. It's a long shot though. In all honesty I'd be more inclined to blame a worn ball
joint.
If at first you don't succeed. Build, build again.
