Kombi Windows

Hi everyone,
I was was looking for some advice to do you with the windows on my 1973 Kombi, the quarter side windows are badly rusted, but instead of fixing them up, i was thinking of replacing them with sliding windows, i have seen this done on a couple of kombis however i have no idea where they got them. Does anyone know of where i could find some??? Is there another model of car out there that has sliding windows which will fit???
Thanks

There is 2 methods of fixing this 1/4 rear window problem

Sliding windows to replace the whole side and fixed one piece glass to replace the 1/4 window.

Both are available from Vintage Vee Dub Supplies in Sydney 02-9789-1777

i have replaced one of my windows with a sliding window...looked around for ages to find one...they were too expensive. ended up buying another kombi for parts ( it had a sliding window in it )
Any way before this I rang around and found someone who could make one new for me...unfortunately I don't remember who the hell it was now...get out the yellow pages and start ringing around.

hey big ears birchall. on sliding windows at the bottom there is a tiny white plastic bit on the runners kinda. If you dont have these bits then the windows dont lock in place. Can I get new ones from VVDS?
