How much are you willing to suck!!!!?????? Send me U2U if you are interested. Are you keeping the restored car??? To keep the switch working,
think about running the lights thru relays. This one is spare as I had a NOS one for the notch. The only thing not working on it is the washer
button but even my 35 year old NOS unit had rotted rubbers in it. I machined a new add on brass unit with O-tings and works as normal.

Ok. Is there some miserable coot out there who has one of these trims for the P/B light switch? If we can get hold of that we can get another early
Type 3 back on the road. How much do we want to pay? Very little!! as we could maybe get an aftermarket one which would be hard to pick!!

Washer valve
Steve looks like he wants to use the original air operated original system for the washers. The attached pics show how the valve can be repaired with
an add on unit either from a useable Beetle or later Type 3 or (as I did after this initial trial) a brass unit with O-rings for seals.

Hi Dave. Just checking in again. I have a good switch here for Steve but it was missing the metal stip. I don't plan on using it so he'd may as
well use it in his project. Maybe I'll barter something from him in the future. I wouldn't hazard a guess on the worth of a good switch these
days. I got my NOS one from Volksbahn about 7 years back and paid $250 for it. Then I had to find the car to use it in!
Are you going to Boris's Picnic tomorow?

For those other early Type 3 owners with the push button light switch assembly who want every thing to work as it did, this is the easy fix for the
washers to work with the air rather than use electrics. All can be done with hand tools although a lathe does come in handy for removing the unwanted
part of the valve body. The base for attaching the washer unit from a later type 3 is made from 4 or 5 mm plate x 16 mm square. There are 2
counterbored holes to hide the original cover screws and 2 tapped #2-56 UNC for threaded rod to hold the new valve in place.
Hope this may be of some use as it has for Steve-89!
