How well should a Type 3 ride?
Hi all
My question is pretty simple, how well should stock my late type 3 ride? it seems kinda rough at the moment, jarring over bumps at speed, which is
kinda unpleasant.
The shocks SEEM ok, i.e they don't bounce, but could it still be caused by them?
Doesn't feel too soft when you push down on a corner of the car when its stationary, so i don't think it could be bottoming out
It has plenty of clearence from the bumpstops aswell!
Please help!

It might have had stiff springs or gas shocks fitted by a previous owner? I think both would give a bumpier ride but better grip when cornering hard.

Check your tyre pressure as it will ride hard if to high I have ours at 22 at front 28 at the back .
Hope this helps

What about the rubbers that go between the rear sub frame assembly and the body ?
I've put gas shocks on my super bug, and that makes it feel harder on bounce.....

ok, well they're the pressures i keep my tires at...
and i have no idea whether the shocks are gas or oil... they have no markings on them, they're just painted gold..
all i know is it jars at speed, but still feels sloppy around corners..

are you really meant to keep your front tyres at 22? when i checked mine i had to get the man from the petrol station to help me because i didn't
know how to do it and when he asked what i wanted them to be at i said
22 and he said "i think thats too low for tyres" so i put them at 25, should i change them to 22? |

ignore the guy, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about... thats the factory specified tire pressures for your car...
