Stan was equal first with Bill Norton on a 43.45 on Saturday night, ahead of John Bowe. Stan was also the fastest man on the circuit.
On Sunday, the field had to get serious as Stan kept logging consistent times. At the end of the event Stan was 4th outright out of 185 cars. It was
also his first time to the event. Best time remained at 43.45.
Damn fine effort.

Not a bad event. Not as many 356's as last year. There was a karmen ghia holding up the VW banner, did some great burnouts off the line. There was
another dude there with a honda CBX six cylinder motorbike engine with a blower on a home made 4 wheeler, sounded fantastic and lit up all the way!

Yes Craig, Stan was leading until Sunday morning when Bill Norton equalled his time. Then after that Bill Norton, John Bowe & Ron Hay all bettered
their times.
Unfortunately due to understear problem Stan wasn't able to run as quick on Sunday even though conditions were better. Stans best time on Sunday was
43.55 and Saturday was 43.45
Nevertheless the car was an absolute rocket in a straight line and generated a lot of interest in the pits from spectators and competitors alike.
The amazing thing is Stan set his best time on his second run and as stated above it was his first time at the event.
Also the Karmen Ghia that Robo mentions runs a Pobjoy 1916

Hey Andrew
How's your bug goin? Had some friends there and they were most impressed that a VW could sound and go as good as that!
Don't suppose that you've got pics of the weekend?

G'day Craig, sorry I haven't replied sooner but I've been offline for a while.
My bug's going great thanks for asking.
I've got a couple of pics, but no action shots unfortunately. I'll try to put them up shortly.
By the way how's your bug comming along?

Hey Andrew
Last I spoke with Pete, still waiting on the heads. Not sure about the bottom end though, if he's done much more. I'd say it'll be after Xmas now
before I get it going.
Cheers Craig
