I like the 044 cnc heads, but for strength the Comp Eliminator is king.
If you go for the comp's, use the smallest engle cam and if you use clearanced and shot peened vw rockers they will fit the chevy style springs that they come with.
Have either type of heads finished off by someone to remove burrs, and put a shim under the springs for protection, whilst making sure the tension is not too high.
So...if you use the big heads, cam it down and you will be happy with the drivability.
