kombis sometimes burn out(usually bad ie chaffed wiring grommits from startermotor to ign sw..
beetles(and countrybugs :-( )
also burn out...
simple fix
PEOPLE-COVER THE POSITIVE TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY....
its so easy
so so(insert swearing here) common in beetles
see battery is under seat
most(almost all) batteries have exposed terminals...
seat springs are earthed(see where im gonig here??)
someone sits on seat....................................
guess what happens when a + and - short through a 1mm thick wire...
it gets red hot...
in the middle of the `straw' seat stuffing
and all it takes to fix is.......
recessed pole battery-ie merc style...
or even a bathmat folded over the + terminal....
(boppa cries when he thinks of how many people lose their pride and joy-for the sake of a thongfull of rubber...)
:-(
