I have just started to bring these fiberglass kit cars in from the US.
I am trying to get the first one on the road, I am learning heaps as I go. The more I learn about VW's the more I love them...
They are called the Wombat in the US, I was planing on calling them the Combat in Aus, However that name is taken by rover mowers. So no name as
yet.
My web site is http://www.xcars.com.au
It will be fully operational after the first one is on the road...nn[ Edited on 09-03-2005 by Indi ]

Hmmm so why the ball joint pan when the bug's got a mcpherson front end? or is it a late standard? Looks like a super to me.

Hey Indi, that yellow one is awesome. Can't wait to see what u got on ur site when its all up, i will definitely look forward to seeing it.
Good luck with the project to mate.
Oh, and one thing. Was a little confused, and tried looking on the net for images to see, but whats the visual difference to tell a ball joint from a
K & L front beam?

Easiest way to tell is a K+L beam has straight shock towers ball joint ones curve outwards at the top (K+L shocks mount with a bolt and BJ use a stud)
Also BJ has no bumpstops, the torsion tubes are spaced closer together, and more importantly uses ball joints insteal of pins!

Thanks guys,
I thought that it was a ball joint, however I now realise that it's a K&L pin.
It's all a learning curve, I'll get there in the end.
Cheers..Jon

I meant to say BJ beams are spaced further apart there.
