IRSing a splitty using bay window parts!

hey
i have an article out of Total VW?from 4-5 years ago!
i has steps on how to do it and all is fine up until "step 8" it says "original 1969 control arm and the modified late item from volkshaven.Note the difference in the curve at the mounting end and also that the modified armhas been shortened at the spring plate end. This allows the arm to fit without fouling the frame horns on the van."
anyone know how to get around this step either
a)using different control arms or
b)know anyone whio makes them?
cheers

I am in the process of doing this mod, and I have taken a tracing of the bay bus arms and am going to have the splitty arms plasma cut so as not to alter the temper of the spring steel too much.
I do have a spare set of original arms just in case I want to put the bus back to standard.
Cheers
