adaware and spybot search and destroy... both free and both very very thorough!! should get rid of pretty much all your adware and spyware.
if you get really desperate (and know what you are doing) then trawl your registry and clean it up that way.
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

if you are on dial up, just go the the newsagent and get a computer mag with those two on the free disc, that way you can at least start with most of
it and just get the upgrade/updates as required. I usually find them in the security section of APC.

all else fails sacrifice it to the puter gods .........
or try noadware - noadware.net - or go to http://www.lavasoft.com or try somewhere
like http://www.pcworld.com and get a malware and spyware remover - most are free
downloads.

have you tried filetopia, get that peer 2 peer network for software....also http://www.cnet.com - get a 'startup' manager - that will let you shut down crap at start up (deh). Make sure you have a
firewall - Zone Alarm is good, then deny net access to these applications using it. Try Spy Flush, that's free on cNet. I would not bother paying for
spyware flushes...adaware is probably the best (in my opinion).
If all else fails - gather all your installers onto CD/DVD. Go buy a new hard drive from local 'puter store - make that the new C Drive and install
the O/S. then re-install the apps. Keep your files on the now E drive. Take off what you really need - then zap it. It's a hassle but a 100
option......
or go buy a Mac and live the virus and spyware free life.
