If the body is good, for 3 grand you should get a pretty good job.

I believe I can save you a few days doing the ring around.
After calling Club Vee Dub, Volkshaven and Classic Vee dub, I finaly got the following two recommendations from painters who couldn't face doing it themselves.
1. Carlos Fuentes 3/21 Badgally Road Campbeltown, Sydney of C.A.R.S restoration.
ph: 4627 3888 should be about 3.5 grand
2. Peter Thomas of Opentop Body Shop 10 Polo Ave, Mona Vale
ph: 9979 5757 should also be about 3.5 grand
Let me know how you go. (would be interested as I am about to do mine)

a grand if you do it yourself in Acrylic, maybe $1600 in 2pac, 8-12k if you pay to do it right at a shop. That assumes you've got no rust or panel repairs to do.

If you've got rust to do - add lots, if its been repaired before - add lots.

Recommend you replace the rubbers too. There is no cheap way to do it properly...the price from a shop will depend on a) if they think you are a time waster or not b) how much work they have for less grief and c) whether your car is what you think it is.

Good painters don't need to discount, and don't need to 'buy' the work.

You get what you pay for. A ratty bus will cost twice as much to fix as a clean one, and often not worth it. Easy to spend 15k on a not so special bus, and you'll not see your money back. A CC for example is probably a better investment than a windowed van.........:P

what are you including in those prices crewcab? everything down to sandpaper, gun and air compressor? or just the paint?

does anyone know a price for enough paint (acrylic) thinners primer and rust protection? i have all the goodies and tools to do the rest, just want a fair idea at pricing on the rest
