Willowbank T&T tonight! New best time! 11.54!...(25/2/06....11.50 & 115.95mph.)
Well, they have forcast rain tonight but we still have to
go through all the motions and hope for the best.
I hope it runs a little faster now since I had 177hp@6200
and now have 188@6700, after some chassis dyno time
(1807 lbs for you mathematicians!) so it is any ones guess
depending on the weather.
I think Pagey an Rod are going to run the 48IDA car with
some weight out of it, will keep everyone posted.

Is that the sort of Peak power RPMs you would have expected out of your combo? I always like this quote one of the commentators at wsid kept using
"RPM is your Freind!" lol.

Yes Owen, around 6700 to 7000 with this cam and capacity was my expectation.
But the dyno's RPM measuring may be incorrect (by 100 rpm or so),
since it is not connected to the ignition.
Shift point is 7400 to 7600 (about 10% over peak)
Power doesn't drop below 170wheel up to the limiter of 7750.
Current 265 degree cam is the reason. Torque peak is at 5000 with
these heads and cam, so more at .050 duration will move torque peak
up, and by simple maths, the peak horsepower and its rpm point
will move up.
This engine is my "mule" to get back into racing enthusiasm...and its working.

New best of 11.54! & Rod runs 109mph w'muff!
Well we ended up getting rained on, but got
some runs in before the heavens opened up.
I improved to an 11.541@114.65 in what is the
worst air conditions that I have raced in with
this engine. This was compared to my last run
at the jamboree of 11.70@112.3 in better air.(best was 11.66)
So if I can wait until I get some good air
(like when I ran 114.77 and was way rich!),
then it should improve some more.
Rod Richarson ran a 12.4@109(on the limiter in 4th!) in the 48IDA car, with the muffler, but
the rain stopped them from having another launch
with some RPM on board.
Other than the rain, the only downer was that I damaged
my superdiff in my second burnout and nearly hit the
wall on the launch. It still ran 12.64@114.59 after losing
over a second by quarter track. There's that consistent MPH again!
So other than some correction factors for better air,
188 at the wheels equals 210 or so on the slide
rule...about 10%. With further air and tuning
improvements at the track there may be 12%...hmmm.

Rod has a 1.26 4rd gear(a 3rd gear that I cut & shut) and a 4.125 diff with 26" tyre so 109.86=7380rpm in 4th!...it was on the limiter for 100m
before the end!

25th Feb '06
ran 11.61@115.15
11.54@115.95
11.50@115.3 which is my best et so far.
There were no major changes to the car other that tighten up the side gears with shims.
The burnouts were much better.
Car weighs 1807lbs and made 188hp at the wheels with this very tune up.
60 foot times were 1.599, 1.590, 1.587.
Weather conditions were poor, so there is a little more left in it.
But time to change engines.

Now shows about 215, so 188 @ wheels=about 12 to 13%

Don't want tens just yet.
18th March is T&T with the other bullet, and then the Mini-Jam
the following weekend if all goes well.
Tens mean a whole bunch of different licence and tech issues.
Car is safe for tens(or nines!), but a $220 licence and $220 tech will be needed.
Currently on Super Street credentials.

Has a/one got a n/a into the 10's?
It would be deserving for you to have the first N/A into the 10's..! ??
What's the other bullet?
What's the HP difference between the "Mule" & the "Bullet"?

Come on Craig!?
Both Freestone and Bergs did that over a decade ago!
Although they were both lighter.
Hoping about 50hp.
I was the first non chopped VW into the tens in Australia with my 1775cc blown combo back in '93 (?)
