Gday all !!

I'm doing an inspecion on a late 60's T3 1500 sedan this weekend coming and would appreciate some advice from other T3 sedan owners..

What to look for? any special problems? and..
How are they as a daily driver?

All help greatly appreciated.....

Time and the pure essence of heaven and the moisture of the earth all worked upon a certain rock old as creation. And it became mgically fertile. That first egg was named "Thought". I drive my notch every day...probably does 350km's a week. Mind you I don't have
to sit in traffic.

Under the battery just like a beetle and the only other rust I have is a small hole
in the inner guard of the back wheel. where the water can sit in the channel where they draw their air.

Open the bonnet and check the far corners by the bulkhead.

Open boot and check rain channels around boot area

Bottom of front kick panels

Ususal apertures , sills etc, etc

My 2 cents

Good luck!

Just a thought. How late is the type 3? As they changed from 1500 to 1600 in 1966 (late 65) do a check on the body number.

Mine is really quite nice to drive around town.. and surprisingly zippy (stock 1600).
Very "modern" for an early 70's car with an early 60's design!

Thanks for the advice all,, will check those spots out for rust. Its been garaged its entire life (still 1st owner) so hopefully its OK.

Its a 1967, 1500 T3 sedan, will have to check the body number to verify - do you know what body number means what?

Does anyone know the fuel consumption? and how are they on the highway?

mine will power along at 70mph (around 110km/h) quite happily, although the engine and wind noise isn't the best..
Fuel consumption isn't bad, but isn't great either.. I think i get about 9-10L/100km. Its all very variable depending on your cars state of tune too.. I just put new points in mine and it is already noticibly more economical!
