High back seats - 66 Beetle

Right, next question.

Currently have low-back seats in the beetle. As I'll be needing to install 4-point seat belts I feel that high back seats would also be wise. Can't imagine what'll happen to my neck if those harnesses are used and there's no seat back to stop my head flying around.

Anyways, what's the easiest option with the high-back seats? I'm hoping someone can say that the ones in the later beetles will bolt straight in? Or alternatively, what other seats might be suitable?

Thanks in advance,

Tim.

No, don't expect any seat to go straight in.. I have two seats with headrest in storage.. They will fit your 68 no problem.. They are velour seat with the odd tear but could be upholstered to your trim.. They are wide, bucket type, seats and are available free in Sydney (Waterloo).. If you want to lose your low backs I'll do a swap.. If not, just take them.. Need storage room

Thanks StenGuns,

The low backs I have are going into my 62 bug unfortunately so I'm not really wanting to part with them. Those high backs you have sound tops though - the 66 is being set up to do a charity rally or two so a tear or two won't be noticed.

I'll be up that way next Friday and Saturday 28/29 October. Mobile is 0421 285 423. If you can send me some contact details I'll get in touch before then if it suits.

Cheers,

Tim

I've got a pair of Scat seats with adjustable head rests that flip every which way and mount directly on the factory seat rails. I'll be upgrading to a pair of recaro's or sparco seats inside of 2 months so i'll list the old ones for sale on the forum when they are available.

They cost me $1200 new, and are the black velour with grey inserts.
